Craft Editor – Post-Production

Location: Culver City, CA

Pocket.watch, the entertainment headquarters kids have been waiting for, is seeking an experienced Craft Editor to perform finishing work on multiple shows for distribution across multiple platforms. This is a great opportunity for someone who is very fluent in the post-production tool kit and familiar with the technical specifications required for delivery of high volumes of content in the OTT and Broadcast environments. The Craft Editor will deliver long-form episodes to the required technical specifications with appropriate graphics, audio mix, and color correction. This is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a trailblazing entertainment company and work with top industry executives.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with executive producer(s) to perform finishing edits on long-form content for distribution on multiple platforms (OTT, Web Video, Broadcast, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Post-Production Supervisor to establish technical standards in line with industry standards
  • Provide creative and technical input on projects throughout the post-production process
  • Must be speedy! Deliver high volumes of finished content on tight deadlines
  • Utilize graphic design skills to create final content
  • Edit video with Adobe Premiere Pro and create motion graphics using Adobe After Effects
  • Generate necessary mezzanine files for delivery into our CMS
  • Be innovative while adhering to brand guidelines
  • Continuously explore cutting-edge, current, and unique production processes & procedures
  • Make sound editorial judgements about shot and audio selection, sequences, and storytelling
  • Complete occasional special projects as needed, including sizzles, reels, etc.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience as a video editor for content destined for OTT distribution (Broadcast experience a plus)
  • Experience in long-form craft editing
  • Adept at creating motion graphics and other graphic assets for video
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a broadcast-ready Audio Mix & Color Correction
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud, namely Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and some Audition

Post-Production Supervisor

Location: Culver City, CA

Pocket.watch, the entertainment headquarters kids have been waiting for, is seeking an experienced Post-Production Supervisor to run a highly efficient team of editors producing a large volume of content on a daily basis for web, OTT, and broadcast. The ideal team member must be able to work under strict deadlines, remain calm under pressure, have a passion for detail, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Supervise editors, projects, and resource scheduling
  • Maintain clarity of information and facilitate channels of communication between the producers and editors
  • Manage post-production schedules, delivery deadlines, workflows (digitizing, upload for approval, reviews, and final distribution)
  • Facilitate communications between post and other departments
  • Fine tune current production infrastructure and internal workflows to enable fast-paced, successful delivery of our original productions
  • Assess and address any existing and potential issues in bottlenecks and workflows
  • Collaborate with production & post teams to define and refine key post workflows such as camera capture, color pipeline, master delivery, and final archive
  • Create and maintain process documentation
  • Train staff on new and existing systems and workflows
  • Advise on best practices for ongoing project file management, data protection/security, and archive/vault management
  • Collaborate and communicate with production and channel operations to ensure videos are delivered on time

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a post environment.
  • Provide effective leadership through collaboration, strong motivation, empowerment, coaching, training, and direction that fosters a challenging, yet results-oriented and rewarding environment
  • Experience with Media Asset Management (MAM) and large-scale storage systems
  • Networking knowledge a plus (i.e. TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, NAS, SAN)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new skills and tools quickly
  • Excellent communication skills: written and spoken (including the ability to assist non-technical staff with complex technical issues)
  • Team-player who operates in a fast paced team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrate experience with VFX, audio, and video finishing workflows
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud, namely Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and some Audition
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Slack, Asana, Smartsheet
  • Experience with a variety of digital media workflows

Associate YouTube Channel Manager

Location: Culver City, CA

Pocket.watch, the entertainment headquarters kids have been waiting for, is seeking an associate YouTube channel manager to collaborate with our team to build and run a network of YouTube channels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple YouTube channels, including the uploading of assets, researching of keywords, authoring of metadata, updating of playlists, etc.
  • Work closely with Channel Manager to continually utilize best practices for video publishing and channel operations
  • Produce regular reports on video performance, including recommendations for ongoing improvement
  • Comment and engage regularly with community to promote active fan base
  • Support special projects with branded entertainment and product licensing teams
  • Initiate and track outreach to potential outside collaboration partners
  • Support Channel Manager with regular data entry and research

Qualifications

Director, Human Resources

Job Summary

Under the direction of the company’s General Counsel, direct pocket.watch’s human resources function, and in collaboration with the CEO/Founder and other members of the Executive Committee assist in the development of pocket.watch’s strategic HR direction and initiatives in support of the company’s culture and objectives. Develop, implement, and continuously improve pocket.watch’s employee relations, talent recruitment efforts, training and development, performance management, benefits, and compensation.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, implement and oversee pocket.watch’s human resources policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements.
  • Oversee pocket.watch’s recruitment, interview, selection and hiring process.
  • Formulate and make recommendations regarding employee job classifications and compensation.
  • Collaborate with pocket.watch’s executives, managers and supervisors to investigate, address and resolve employee relations and disciplinary matters.
  • Formulate and coordinate pocket.watch’s employee benefits program.
  • Design and facilitate employee and management training in areas of leadership development, human resources practices, new hire orientation, performance management, selection and hiring, employee relations, and other initiatives that support the strategic needs and goals of the organization.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of employee recognition activities designed to reward performance or significant events, and reinforce and enhance the unique pocket.watch culture.
  • Maintain employee records and make all required reporting and filings to the applicable governmental entities.
